Crime and punishment

In Crime and Punishment, Fyodor M. Dostoevsky delves into profound questions about the possibility of the perfect crime, "justified murder," and the ability of reason to silence conscience. The novel narrates the murder of a pawnbroker by the student Raskolnikov, who sees himself as a "superman" and tries to justify his actions. However, his remorse drives him to overwhelming despair. Sonia, a virtuous prostitute, persuades him to confess his guilt and start a new life. Through a captivating style,  Dostoevsky portrays the social misery of St. Petersburg and offers a profound psychological analysis of  the killer's mind, consolidating his work as one of the best detective novels, according to Thomas Mann.

My point of view on the laws in Colombia is a question that many of us ask ourselves since this question is not so simple because the appropriateness of the penalty varies depending on the crime and the circumstances in which it is committed, I believe that in the criminal code The aim is to establish penalties proportional to the seriousness of the crimes, taking into account factors such as: The damage caused, the intention of the perpetrator, recidivism and other relevant circumstances.

However, it is noted that in some cases the penalties may be disproportionate since the excessive severity of penalties for drug-related crimes and the insufficient penalties for corruption crimes have been criticized.

In conclusion, although we seek to establish adequate penalties for violations of the law in Colombia, reality shows that there are still challenges regarding its adjustment and effective application. It is necessary to continue working on strengthening the justice system to achieve greater proportionality and effectiveness in the criminal response.

Critical thinking and media literacy

Critical thinking and media literacy are key skills for students at SENA and other educational institutions. In a context of information overload, it is essential to assess the credibility of sources and discern biases. These skills enable students to thoughtfully address problems, make informed decisions, and develop innovative solutions. They also help them navigate the digital environment, identify misinformation, and interact responsibly with content. Together, they foster a more informed and engaged citizenry, facilitating academic and professional success in a complex world and contributing to a more reflective society.

In Colombia, the presentation of news in the media is a topic that generates diverse points of view and discussions. The media in the country have the responsibility of informing the population about events and events that occur at the national and international level.

However, it is common to find a wide variety of styles and approaches when pr

senting the news. Some media outlets follow a more neutral and objective approach, presenting the facts impartially and without any interpretation or bias.

On the other hand, there are also media outlets that tend to develop a more subjective approach, where an interpretation of events is shown and opinions and analysis are added by journalists.

Likewise, it is important to highlight that the presentation of news in Colombia is influenced by different factors, such as the political orientation of the media, economic interests and relationships with the government and other political actors.
